Denice Franke “South Gulf Lowlands” at KUHT

Denice Franke sings her song “South Gulf Lowlands” at KUHT circa 2000

I met Denice through my experiences with “Anderson Fair Presents” and kept up the association because she bartended at the Cafe Express on West Gray, working with some of my oldest friends who ran that kitchen.

There are no slates on the “Music Notes” recordings from the “Weekday Edition” show. These segments were taped live in the old building on Cullen with a very weird mixer called an Orion. Mark Kennedy directed the Music Notes segments.
