I was introduced to gigapans through my brother, Bobby Robertson who was COO of gigapan.com. The technology’s potential is amazing for displaying panoramic shots online. There are provisions for Facebook tagging crowd shots, 360 degree zoom-able views, selectable snapshots within an image, website embedding, and large scale printing Some post production platforms can integrate them directly into the sequence timeline. You can place the image on Google Earth, which is not only invaluable for as-built displays, but architectural companies, developers, realtors, and signage companies can show not only the sign or facade of the project, but the interior space, views and sight lines outward.
