Douglas Robertson was hired by brothers Gedeon and Jules Naudet (9/11, In God’s Name) of Goldfish Pictures to record the interviews of George H. W. Bush and 3 of the 20 living White House Chiefs of Staff. The two part four hour event covers nine administrations and 50 years. Interviews include former U.S. presidents Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush and Chiefs of Staff that include Howard Baker, Jr., James A. Baker III, Joshua Bolten, Erskine Bowles, Andrew Card, Dick Cheney, William M. Daley, Kenneth Duberstein, Rahm Emanuel, Jim Jones, Jacob Lew, Denis McDonough, Thomas Mack McLarty, Leon Panetta, John Podesta, Donald Rumsfeld, Samuel K. Skinner, John H. Sununu, Jack Watson and Marvin Watson.
The film uses DSLR videography and the Interrotron technique to support Peabody Award-winning news producer Chris Whipple’s (60 Minutes, ABC News) interviews. Pulitzer Prize winning White House photographer David Hume Kennerly produced the project and contributed his photographs from his legendary career. The sound was recorded double system.
